The Tony Award-winning musical “Dear Evan Hansen” will probably be coming to Chicago within its 2018-19 nationwide tour, Broadway at Chicago declared Thursday.
The news means we won’t get our own “sit-down” Chicago creation of the greatest hit of this past Broadway season, a disappointment, but it does indicate the city will snag a pretty early look in the series. Broadway in Chicago failed to specify either the amount of months or the projected dates of this run.
“Dear Evan Hansen,” that includes a novel by Steven Levenson along with a score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, remains a difficult ticket on Broadway, even though the celebrity Ben Platt has announced he’ll leave the creation in November. The “Dear Evan Hansen” tour bows at the autumn of 2018 at Denver.
